We are very excited to announce our next wine dinner series, including an evening at our Oceanside Harbor location, Stratford at the Harbor! For our August Winemaker Dinner Series we're thrilled to share a fantastic line up of wines from boutique, Paso Robles based winery, Cairjn. Back for a second year in a row, we have a fantastic line-up of ultra-small production, elegant wines planned. Featuring a completely different line-up from last year, this series will see some new blends and vintages. Owner/winemaker, Andy Neja will join us for each evening to share his wines and story. Cairjn is pronounced like “karn.” Derived from the word, "cairn" which means "a heap of stones piled up as a memorial or as a landmark." Founder, Andy Neja, chose this name as a tribute to his family's farming legacy and as a nod to the limestone-rich terrain of West Paso, where the vineyards are located. These wines are the epitome of boutique and are not found outside of the winery. You can expect a very fun evening of wine and food conversation from both Andy and Chef Erin. Each selection will be paired with its own wine inspired dinner course, prepared by Chef Erin Sealy. Chef Erin specializes in pairing food with wine, with a slightly different approach than most. Prior to creating a menu, each wine is tasted and reviewed and then she creates a food pairing, highlighting the nuances of each wine. This concept creates a dinner and pairing experience with layers of complexity and unique creations which exemplify the enjoyment of each wine. With a passion for food and wine, Chef Erin delights attendees with a detailed account of the pairing concept and cooking techniques that create each course. Watermelon Terrine: Fresh Watermelon Slices, Pepita + Black Sesame Crusted Mascarpone + Chevre, Fresh Thai Basil and Aged Balsamic Drizzle

 

2023 Cairjn Paso Robles Red Table Wine (Priorat Style Blend)

Roasted Vegetable Savory Crepe with Caramelized Eggplant, Roasted Sweet Potato, Sauteed Zucchini + Yellow Squash and Caramelized Red Onion. Topped with Brown Butter Parsnip Crème, Minced Chive and Micro Greens
