Eat Drink Cook and Umbel Roots Farm present a bring-a-bottle wine dinner AT Umbel Roots where we will dine on food from the farm surrounding us.
Date: Saturday, October 10, 4 PM arrival. Expect to finish around 7.
Wine theme is PINOT NOIR. From any place, any style. Appreciate you bringing something you know, or think, is VERY GOOD. One bottle admits two guests, but if you want to bring more than one be my guest (some will).
Joining us will be owners/winemakers from two local artisan Pinot Noir-focused wineries (to be announced soon). Each will bring along two of their favorite bottles that he/she has made.
Winery guests: KURT BEITLER, Bohème Winery, Sonoma Coast
and one more
DINNER: William Henpenn of Umbel Roots and Dan Dawson of Eat Drink Cook will be your chefs for the night. William is excited to show off his wood-fire cooking skills as well as his amazing produce.
The night's menu will be posted by October 1. Here's the menu at the last dinner in June: (served family-style):
Umbel Roots Greens (arugula, red frill lettuce, butter lettuce, farm herbs), Meyer lemon dressing, soft-boiled duck eggs.
Fire-roasted Heritage pork tenderloin, garlic aioli.
Fire-blasted Umbel Roots garden vegetables (fennel, carrots, beets & more)
Dawson's Sourdough, wood-fire baked on site.
Umbel Roots Strawberries, Dawson farm peaches, home-made honeyed ricotta.
Cost: Eat Drink Cook Social Club Members $50, non-members $75. Payment by cash or Venmo only, please.
The person who brings the best bottle of the night, judged by the group near the end of the evening, wins an Umbel Roots CSA Box.
The dinner is at Umbel Roots Farm on Highway 37 near Novato. Bring a wrap along as temperatures may drop in the evening, and consider sharing an Uber of Lyft to get there and back.
