Join us for a focused exploration of Bordeaux’s Left and Right Banks, centered on two representative estates: Château Cantemerle, Grand Cru Classé 1855 (Haut-Médoc), and Château Grand Corbin, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé.
The session will be presented by Mary Gorman MW, a Master of Wine with longstanding expertise in Bordeaux. Through the tasting and discussion of multiple vintages, we will examine how terroir, grape composition, and winemaking choices contribute to the stylistic differences between the two banks. Particular attention will be given to the structural influence of Cabernet Sauvignon on the Left Bank and the role of Merlot in shaping Right Bank wines.
We will also address current developments in Bordeaux, including responses to climate change, sustainability practices, and evolving market conditions, considering how these factors are influencing both viticulture and style.
This seminar is designed for those wishing to build a deeper, comparative understanding of Bordeaux through structured tasting and discussion.
