Local Event
Historically, the owners of wineries have been a fairly homogenous group. Wineries in old-world wine regions have been passed down in the same families for centuries, dating back to periods when law and social structure dictated who could own land. In the new-world wine regions, money and opportunity dictate who can own and operate wineries, but there are still many societal factors that have hindered non-white communities from stepping into the wine industry in winery owner positions. Today, there are very few black-owned wineries across the globe, but the wines that these wineries are putting out are shaking up the industry, and we are so excited to share some of our favorite wines from these wineries.
Join us for a casual seated wine class where we will discuss the history and wines of some of our favorite Black-owned wineries at Planet Wine!
