Yes, Burgundy is too expensive and, certainly, you can get a lot of Burgundy Chardonnay and Pinot Noir delight from ancillary regions like the Macon, Côte Chalonnaise and the Haut Cotes. But sometimes you just want to try the "real thing," right? This is your chance. Come join French portfolio manager Bertrand Blanchez of Banville Wine Merchant on Thursday, April 23, for a tasty tour of some great Burgundies that may be a little high end...and are certainly delicious!
We're still finalizing the line-up, but some selections we know will be there for you to try:
In all there will be seven brilliant Burgundies to taste with four whites, three reds, and lots of great information on producers, vintages and more. And Bertrand is just the Sommelier to guide you in style. Born and raised in Bordeaux, he sipped his first glass of Petrus at age 12 and today leads Banville's German and French portfolios. And Burgundy is a specialty!
This Spotlight on Burgundy is free to attend - just RSVP for one of the three 45 minute tasting sessions and come on by the shop. This is a stand up tasting on the main sales floor and all the wines will be on sale at special, tasting-only, savings. Whether you're a long-time Burgundy fan or just wonder what all the (expensive) fuss is about, this is a great opportunity to learn and enjoy!
