About this class:
Fall in love with cake decorating this autumn! Join Celebrity Pastry Chef Dawn of Ravy Cakes, LLC, a competitor on the Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship, for a beginner-friendly class. You will learn to create a stunning autumn-themed cake featuring bold buttercream piping and handcrafted fondant leaves — no experience necessary!
In this hands-on class, you will learn how to:
- Level the cake
- Apply the crumb coat and final buttercream
- Create sharp edges
- Prepare delicious buttercream (demonstrated by Chef Dawn)
You will also master the art of extreme piping using various techniques such as creating beautiful rosettes, shell borders, swirls, and decorative accents in a gorgeous autumn palette of purple, burnt orange, golden yellow, and green. Additionally, you'll learn how to make realistic fondant autumn leaves, complete with detailed veining, to cascade across your cake for that perfect fall finish.
Chef Dawn will guide you step by step through each technique, so even if you've never held a piping bag before, you'll leave with a show-stopping cake and the confidence to keep decorating at home. This class is perfect for beginners, those needing a refresher, or individuals interested in bakery job training and starting their own cake decorating business.
