Sure, you enjoy your favorite wines - they're your "usual" because you like how they taste and enjoy the comfort of the familiar. This Friday we'll pull you away from the familiar a bit, though, and showcase five distinctively different wines on the tasting table. Join us from 3-7pm on Friday to experience:
Jeremie Huchet Muscadet Clisson 2021 - Muscadet for Chablis lovers, this is intense Melon de Bourgogne given breadth and complexity made in big oak cask and with 37 months on the lees. Defines "salty"!
Evesham Wood Blanc Du Puits Sec 2025 - Oregon white blends are hard to sell, but this blend of Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer is so delicious, we'll try. Spicy, minerally, vibrant and delicious.
Dom Pierre Prieur & Fils Sancerre Rouge 2022 - Just delicious Sancerre Pinot Noir full of ripe, spicy, Pinot fruit with a touch of smoke from time in oak. Hard to stop drinking.
Cantina del Rimedio Cannonau Maimone 2024 - An exceptionally delicious and useful fall-weight version of Sardinia's main red grape. Sure, it handles a stew or steak nicely but its seaside origins means it's going to shine with salmon or swordfish, too!
Chiara Ciavolich Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Fosso Cancelli 2019 - About as far from cheerful, juicy, daily-drinking Montepulciano as you can get. As Vinous says in the 93 point praise, it's "impossible to ignore...The complexity here is off the charts."
As usual, all the wines will be on sale with best, six-pack, pricing available on a mix/match basis during the tasting. A bite or two from the cheese case will add more interest still. And once the tasting is done? Maybe you'll be ready to add some unusual wines to your usual favorites!
