Remember Italian Gardens restaurant? And, remember the iconic Chianti in the wicker basket (il fiasco)? John David DiCapo grew up in the Italian Gardens restaurant - where the wicker fiasco sat prominently on every table. It wasn’t decoration, it was part of the experience. The moment a bottle hit the table, it meant something. It meant you were about to share a meal, a conversation, a piece of Italian tradition.

John David has revived the Chianti of our youths and brought back the Fiasco with DiCapo Chianti DOCG.

John will be here pouring the 2024 vintage, along with meatballs & sugo, both made using the original Italian Gardens recipe.

John traveled across the Chianti region searching for the right partner—an established family winery with deep roots, generations of experience, and a shared belief in what Chianti is supposed to be. He wasn't looking for just any producer. He was looking for a family he could grow with—one that understood both tradition and the opportunity to reintroduce it to a new generation.

He found them.

Together, through careful selection and blending, we created a Chianti that lives up to the name on the bottle. Balanced, authentic, and unmistakably Tuscan—crafted to be enjoyed the way Chianti was always meant to be: at the table, shared among friends, paired with food, and part of the moment.

The result is DiCapo.
