Syrah, also known as Shiraz, is a dark-skinned wine grape variety that can taste dramatically different depending on where it's grown. In this class, we'll explore the power, elegance and versatility of Syrah/Shiraz and its potential to challenge Cab & Pinot as king of CA reds. Learn its origins, other homes and characteristics. Discover how Syrah varies based on climate, soils and traditions in various international regions through a guided tasting of 6 wines. Despite the differences, you will find common threads.

This class may be taken as part of our Wine Grapes of the World Series or individually à la carte. Your class fees can be applied to the cost of the full series if you would like to continue on.
