Petar Velickovic’s journey into wine didn’t begin in a vineyard—it began tableside, serving guests and asking questions. For him, wine was never about status or price; it was always about connection. That core belief continues to shape everything he does as a wine educator.

He founded Wine Way in North Macedonia with a simple yet powerful mission: to help people find their own way through wine. Inspired by Frank Sinatra’s iconic line, “I did it my way,” Petar developed a teaching style that is real, human, and constantly evolving.

Now based in Miami, he has launched Thirsty and Wise, a company that reflects something deeper. It’s not just about being thirsty for good wine—it’s about being thirsty for meaning, for connection, and for making wise choices in the stories we drink and the paths we follow.

Petar has completed all WSET courses across wine, spirits, sake, and beer, and is currently considering the next step—perhaps the prestigious Master of Wine. While he hasn’t yet decided if that will be his final destination, one thing is certain: wine will always be his way of making sense of the world—and helping others do the same.

To Petar, wine should never feel intimidating. It should feel inspiring. That’s not just what he teaches. It’s how he lives.
