Jim Clarke is the U.S. Country Manager for Wines of South Africa (WoSA), the generic, inclusive marketing body for South African wine exports. He is a former sommelier, having run the wine programs at New York’s Megu Restaurant and Armani Ristorante.
The author of The Wines of South Africa, published by the Académie du Vin, Jim has been writing about wine, sake, and related subjects for over twenty years; his articles have appeared in World of Fine Wine, Club Oenologique, SevenFifty Daily, Fortune, and many other publications.
In 2020, Jim received the International Louis Roederer Wine Writer Award for Feature Writing, and in August of that year, Wine Business Monthly named him a Wine Industry Leader of the Year.
Jim is a highly regarded speaker, leading seminars and tastings around the country, and also regularly serves as a judge at several wine competitions.
