Inspired by our founder Joe Martin’s journey of leaving city life behind to grow grapes in Sonoma, this experience invites you to uncover your own version of “the secret” he found here. Through guided self-discovery, you’ll explore how your palate responds to four winery-exclusive wines paired with vibrant, seasonal bites. Taste, mix, and match at your own pace as you learn what pairings speak to you. Secrets of Sonoma is one of two signature culinary offerings at St. Francis Winery, alongside our acclaimed Wine & Food Pairing experience.

Our wines are crafted to be expressive on their own but truly come to life when thoughtfully paired with food. “For me, Zinfandel truly stands out as a perfect pairing wine, effortlessly complementing a wide range of flavors and cuisines,” says Chef Janiak. For this experience, he’s hand-selected four winery-exclusive wines to complement each dish and guide you on a delicious journey of flavor discovery.

A vibrant mezze-style spread showcases sustainable, seasonal ingredients—each bite thoughtfully crafted to awaken the senses and reveal unexpected flavor harmonies with our award-winning wines. The experience explores the four flavor fulcrums: sweetness, acidity, richness, and bitterness, guiding you through the art and science of pairing. Expect inspired bites like Whipped Ricotta with Summer Corn and Eggplant with Sun-Dried Tomato, each dish highlighting a unique sensory dimension.
