Indulge in a symphony of flavors at The Perfect Pair – an exclusive Culinary & Wine Showcase pairing the talents of the Cabrillo College Culinary Arts department with wineries from the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA for an inspired afternoon of bites and world class wines.
Embark on a journey of wines perfectly matched with delectable culinary creations created by Cabrillo Culinary arts students. An unforgettable afternoon of fun, learning, and, of course, delicious food and wine featuring walk around tasting set on the beautiful grounds of the historic Sesnon House. This annual event benefits the Cabrillo College Culinary Arts Program.

Start your exploration with 2 in-depth wine masterclasses led by Deborah Parker Wong, DWSET; global wine editor for the Tasting Panel and Professor of Wine Studies at Cabrillo College.

Sensory Evaluation: 10:30–11:30AM

Embark on a sensory journey of wine at the Wine Seminar on Sensory Tasting! Indulge your palate and sharpen your senses as you explore the intricate aromas, flavors, and textures that define each varietal. The masterclass is like a mini version of the Cabrillo College Wine Studies’ eight-week course on how to taste wine, Sensory Evaluation of Wine Grape and will include tastings of wines that have been honored in the Slow Wine Guide USA

Taste the Terroir: Santa Cruz Mountains AVA: 12–1PM

A captivating journey through this renowned wine region, where rugged terrain and maritime influence converge to produce some of California’s most distinctive wines. Explore the diversity of our Santa Cruz Mountains American Viticultural Area, where you will taste wines from a wide range of grape varietals, including chenin blanc, grenache, nebbiolo and many more.

Finish your exploration with The Perfect Pair Tasting 1-4PM

11 teams of students are matched to 11 Santa Cruz Mountains wines. Each culinary team prepares one dish to pair with their chosen wine, striving to perfectly match the food and wine for the prize of “The Perfect Pair.” Includes commemorative glass.
