Showdown Series with Michael Franz: Red Burgundy vs. Oregon Pinot
2 hours • $85
No region in the wine world has been so dominant with one of the world’s great grape varieties as Burgundy has been with Pinot Noir…for the past two hundred years at a minimum. However, a challenger has finally arisen in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and the most convincing proof that a showdown is finally called for is the fact that great Burgundy houses are buying land in Oregon (e.g., Drouhin, Jadot, Comtes Lafon and Meo Camuzet). This class will center on a blind tasting pitting comparably-priced wines head-to head in pairs, resulting in a no-doubt-vigorous discussion of their particular characteristics and relative merits.
