About the Dinner:
Late summer brings joyful nightshades, reminding us of the unmatched pleasure of a ripe tomato, warmed by the sun. Vibrant peppers, squashes, and earthy mushrooms complete the kaleidoscope of flavors. It's the perfect time to "eat where it grows," with warm breezes sweeping through sweet-smelling fields, and our regional bounty creating a symphony for all senses. Open fire cooking of locally sourced meats will round out the spread.
What is a Plated Landscape™ Dinner?
Started in 2006, Plated Landscapes are the brainchild of Chef/Founder/Farmer, Ben Bebenroth. These al fresco dining experiences take place at our farm, Spice Acres, along with other scenic and immersive locations in Northeast Ohio. The evening begins with a signature beverage and farm-inspired passed hors d'oeuvres. Then, we’re introduced to the evening's host(s) - the stewards of the land! The group embarks on a 30-45 minute tour of the location and is then seated for a five-course, wine-paired dinner that incorporates food from our farm and the gems of the season’s harvest.
About the Venue:
Spice Acres is a unique gem in the country. It’s one of only 11 farms that are part of a farm-leasing program in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park called the Countryside Initiative. Managed in partnership with the Countryside Conservancy, it is the only program in the country that conserves national park land through sustainable farming.
