Vero Vino Wine and Food Festival will present their 2nd annual “Have Piano will Duel” concert, June 29th at 6pm. Some of Indian River’s most gifted high school music students will attend an intense workshop in the morning and perform a full concert of jazz and American standards that evening.
This is a post event of the 2018 festival. The concept was to begin an event which would bring high school jazz students together with a professional instructor and then present the fruits of their labor to a live audience. Vero Vino wanted to make this an event that will continually grow and offer new challenges and visions for jazz students in Indian River County, so this year “Have Pianos” has added American standards and a featured vocalist to the concert.
Jacob Craig, First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach Music Director and Laurel Award recepient, will facilitate the event for a second year.
The audience will enjoy the talents of incredible youths and also give these future artists the joy of bringing their best to a live performance. In addition, the students will be challenged to accomplish this while rehearsing with other qualified musicians for a limited time. It will be a fabulous gathering on stage that will include horn, percussion, bass, guitar, a featured vocalist and Jacob Craig on piano.
The ‘Have Pianos Will Duel” concert is to be held on June 29TH at Unity Spiritual Center from 6pm-8pm… 950 43rd Ave. Doors open at 5:30pm with wine and refreshments available. Free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $10. Space is limited; last year was standing room only, so please RSVP at 772 538 1181.
