The fourth annual Georgia Trustees Wine Challenge was judged August 11-12, 2018, at the Michael A. Leven School of Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality at Kennesaw State University.
Georgia-produced wines, meads and ciders were evaluated by a team of professionals. Medals were awarded, and at the gala banquet—to be held in Athens, Georgia, on Monday, October 29—top awards will be announced.
Jarad Benton, executive chef at The Classic Center where the gala banquet will be held, has created a menu reflecting the culinary traditions of the South.
The reception, starting at 6:30 p.m., will feature gold medal-winning wines from Georgia wineries, meaderies and cideries. In addition to hors d'oeuvres served at the reception, a four-course plated dinner will be served.
Cost is $115, inclusive, and may be paid on line at the challenge web site: www.georgiatrusteeswinechallenge.com.
In addition, a block of rooms has been reserved at the adjacent Hyatt Plaza Hotel, and guests may reserve a room, taking advantage of a reduced rate, on the Challenge web site.
