Bodega Viña Otano Wine Tasting Dinner with Ervigio Adam and Arrowine and Cheese Shop.

We cordially invite you to join us for an exclusive wine tasting dinner with Ervigio Adan of Viña Otano and Arrowine and Cheese Shop on Sunday, October 9th from 5:00 to 10:00 in the evening at SER Restaurant.

Guests will enjoy a five course menu prepared by award winning Chefs David Sierra and David Cardona exclusively for this event. Each course will be paired with the illustrious wines of Viña Otano. Throughout the dinner, Ervigio , the Viña Otano Sales Manager, will explain the wines being served, the tale behind each wine, and while one wine might be sipped in nearly reverent contemplation, while another is enjoyed alongside the first joyous ray of light and blossom of spring.

Please scroll down to learn more about: Ervidio Adam and Viña Otano Winery and Arrowine and Cheese and to view our dinner menu for the evening.

About Viña Otano: The winery is family-oriented, directed by Oscar Montaña, grandson of the founder Don Román, and has a minimum of 105 hectares (it has recently acquired some more, always from old vines), basically in the Rioja Alta area.

The wines you already know well, they have a lot of expressiveness, a lot of fruit, but well balanced with a good aging process, and we think they offer competitive prices, for wines of a quality above average, and well recognized by critics.

Normally clayey-calcareous soils, with an altitude between 500 and 650 meters, which is good in an appellation such as Rioja, and vineyards of a certain age, some already centenary, the oldest being from 1886.

The range is wide, offering young whites and rosés that are very easy to enjoy, a couple of whites with complexity and very good aging capacity (the Barrel Fermented and the highly awarded Gran Reserva) and a complete range of reds: Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva and a 100% Graciano that is very special. We also produce Magnums and larger bottles, some of which are several years old and of which there are hardly any units left, which we usually keep for Aurelio, knowing that in the USA they are appreciated more than in other markets.

About Ervigio: Regarding me, my name is Ervigio Adán Ruiz, I am 48 years old, and I am from Córdoba although I have been in La Rioja for 20 years, the same as I have been in the world of wine, since my training is as an Industrial Engineer. My in-laws founded a winery in La Rioja together with other partners, and I took the opportunity to join the project, a time in which obviously I had to read a lot, ask a lot, taste many wines and even did a Master in Viticulture, Oenology and Wine Marketing Although, as I have really learned, it has been with time, desire, traveling a lot and opening many bottles.

I have been in this project for 5 years now and I am mainly in charge of Export. In other phases of my life I have been closer to wines and their production, but having Isaac Fernández as winemaker and Oscar Montaña in the direction, my contribution in this field is not necessary and I try rather to help open the market and support As much as possible to the best importers, among whom there is no doubt is Aurelio, who is doing an incredible job in the United States.

Yes I am a bit crazy about wines and where I go I try as many of them as possible, it is the best way to continue learning, but in the end the important thing is to relax and enjoy them, if possible surrounded by friends.

$130 per person including tax and gratuity.

We travel to the wineries to hand select what we sell. We carry hard-to-find wines with character and uniqueness that speak of the place that they were grown in. We are about wines that offer "real value." We support artisan wine makers, organic agriculture and hand harvesting. Our dedicated and passionate staff will cater to customers at any level of interest, consulting with you to select the perfect wine to fit your taste, meal, and budget, whether it's for your book club, wine-tasting club, dinner at home or to cellar for years.

We can also special order wines for you. All you have to do is ask. Our prices are competitive and often the lowest in the country. We negotiate the best price from distributors and pass that savings along to our customers. And our email offerings provide even greater discounts directly to you. A wine doesn't have to be expensive; it has to offer real value and taste good. Our goal at Arrowine is to foster a welcoming environment that encourages people to explore. It's a place to learn, enjoy, and have fun. Our products need to offer real value and taste good. And we work harder than our competition to bring that to you!
