Surprising though it may be, the fact is that many of Spain’s most exciting wines are being made either by the country’s youngest or oldest producers. On the “young guns” side of the phenomenon, a new generation of growers and winemakers are employing the latest technology and expertise from around the world to take Spain’s formerly insular wine culture to new heights. Among the best traditional bodegas, a stick-to-your-guns commitment to working with low-yielding old vines and making wines largely by hand has preserved some of the world’s most astonishing wines from homogenized internationalism. This tasting class will mostly feature red wines from the nation’s top appellations, but sprinkled into the dozen offerings will be some additional surprises that demonstrate the remarkable breadth of excellence now being achieved in beautiful, bountiful Spain.
Wine samples available for pickup by appointment on Friday, June 4 between 12pm – 5pm.
