You will learn the basic principles of spirit production, the main types and styles of spirits.  You will also learn the factors affecting the flavor of spirits, how to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT) and how to serve spirits.

There are no prerequisites for WSET Level 1 Spirits, but the student must be of legal drinking age in order to participate in the spirits tasting. However, this is not a barrier to successfully completing the qualification.

Price includes the WSET Level 1 Spirits study guide, tuition, printed materials, exam, certificate and lapel pin (if you pass the examination). 

For all WSET qualifications, we provide students with RIEDEL tasting glasses to use during class at no additional charge.

Courses are offer in person.  This level has a minimum requirement of six hours of study time in classroom. After class, each student will take a 45 minute test. Test consists of a 30 multiple choice questions. A total mark of 70% is required to achieve a pass. All students who pass will be issued with a certificate and will receive a lapel pin.

We use Riedel spirit glasses in all our courses.

WSET Students will receive a full refund 30 days before the day of the course. We will charge a $150 processing fee.

Making changes to your reservation within 21 days of the start day of the course will result in a fee of 25% of the cost of the course.

Students have no refunds 14 days before the day of the course or after a program has begun. If you need to be transferred to a future program, you must submit a request 14 days prior to the course and a $150 transfer fee will be collected to confirm the transfer.
