2023 UNIQUE ITALIAN COUNTRYSIDE WINE TOUR OF ITALY       

                                 DAY - BY - DAY ITINERARY

12 days - 10 wineries - 11 breakfasts - 3 lunches - 2 dinners

Tuesday, May 9 - Leave the USA on an overnight flight to Rome.

Wednesday, May 10 - Transfer on your own from the Rome airport to the Hotel Napoleon in Historic Old Town - one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Rome.

The Airport Train "Leonardo Express" terminates at the Termini Train Station just 5 blocks from the hotel. Relax or go exploring, the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are nearby.

Welcome dinner at the Il tempio di Minerva at 7 pm this evening to meet your hosts and fellow travelers.

Thursday, May 11 -  Leave for Assisi. After your included breakfast meet the coach with your luggage at 10:15 for a short drive to Merumalia Wine Resort for wine tasting and a light snack. After, we will leave for a scenic 2-1/2 hour ride to Assisi and the BV Grand Hotel and Spa for 3 nights. Explore your hotel, maybe take a swim in the indoor pool or have a spa treatment. This evening is free to explore and dinner is on your own.

Friday, May 12 - After your included breakfast we will meet the coach at 10:00 AM for a 50-minute drive to Rossbastardo Winery for a Wine tasting and Lunch. At 1:15 pm we will leave and drive 35 minutes for a 2:00 pm Wine tasting at Agricola Mevante with a light snack, then return back to BV Grand Hotel where dinner is on your own.

Saturday, May 13 - After your included breakfast we will meet the coach at 9:30 AM for a 45-minute drive to Perugia Chocolate factory where we will join a Truffle-making class. I can smell the chocolate from here. At 2 pm we will ride for 20 minutes to the Perugia to explore and have a light lunch on our own. A picturesque 40-minute ride back to the BV Grand Hotel where the spa is awaiting you along with an indoor pool. 6:00 PM we will leave the BV Grand for wine and dinner at the Bilbento Assisi Restaurant. After we will return to the Hotel for a good night's rest.

Sunday, May 14th -  Leave for Fano. Pack your bags, after an included breakfast we will leave Fano. The coach will leave at 10 AM for a 2-hour ride to Hotel Castello Montegiove - Country House, on the slopes of the homonymous hill, overlooking the sea, the city of Fano, and the surrounding green hills. Free day to enjoy this unique hotel, hike, golf, or go to the nearby city of Fano. 3 nights

Monday, May 15th - After (included) breakfast the coach will leave at 10:30 am for a beautiful 1 hour ride to Tenuta dell'Ugolino for wine tastings with a lunch. At 2 pm head for Crespaia just 1 hour away where you will enjoy wine tasting with a light snack. Afterward just a 15-minute return to the Hotel Castello Montegiove.

Tuesday, May 16th - - After (included) breakfast meets the coach at 10:15 AM for a 1.15-hour drive to Madonnabruna for tastings with Lunch. After lunch 2 pm 1.15-hour drive to Libenzi for tastings with a light snack. One 30 minutes back to the hotel where dinner is on your own.

Wednesday, May 17 - Pack your bags, after an included breakfast we will meet the coach at 10 AM for our drive north to Treviso. After a 1 1/2 hour drive, we will stop in historical Ravenna where you will have 2 hours to explore and have lunch. At 1:30 PM the coach will leave on a 2 1/2 hour drive to Hotel Maggior Consiglio, just a short walk from Treviso's city center. Though overshadowed by its southerly neighbor Venice, Treviso boasts a similar network of canals and maze-like medieval streets, tucked away behind historic defensive walls. The newer part of town holds a bevy of museums and restaurants serving Treviso’s signature dish: tiramisu. 4 nights

Thursday 18 May - After your included breakfast meet the coach at 10 AM for a 1-hour drive, to Tenuta Fernanda Cappello in Fruili at 12:00 pm for tastings and a light snack. There you can enjoy the beautiful mountain backdrop. Arrive at 12:30 pm for lunch on your own in Sequals, we will leave at 2 pm. Enjoy the glorious views during our 1-hour drive to the winery Azienda Agricola Frassinelli in the famous Prosecco region of Conegliano- Valdobbeadine for tastings and a light snack. Return time is 30 minutes to the hotel. You will have time to explore Treviso and enjoy.

Friday 19th May - After an included breakfast meets the coach at 9:15 AM for a 1/2 hour drive to Castello di Roncade and tour the only Venetian villa still enclosed within a medieval wall. Visit the garden, cellars, and part of the interior of the villa, discovering the fascinating vicissitudes of the families that lived in it combining historic events, conspiracies, and legends! The tour will be followed by a sampling of 5 wines and snacks. Remainer for the day is for you to explore on your own.

Saturday, May 20th - Free day to roam, relax, and enjoy the spa and indoor pool or let us arrange an excursion, many to choose from. Today you can join Debi for a day trip to Venice to explore.

Debi can help you arrange a transfer to the airport, or depending on your departure time you can take the train to Venice and a water taxi to the airport. She can also help you plan a post-tour.
