The island of Sicily has been ground for wine production for thousands of years. For a time in more modern history the vines were used for high yields, which in turn led to mainly bulk wines. Fast forward to the present and Sicily is known for being one of the most dynamic and attention-worthy regions in Europe. Italy boasts hundreds of indigenous grape varietals, and the country’s largest island is home to more than a few. These unique varieties, combined with an almost perfect climate and a focus on quality production means there is no time like the present to get to know these wines a little better.

Join us on Friday, March 12th at 6pm as we taste some of Sicily’s principal grapes and learn more about what makes this island so special.

We will taste the following wines:

  • Gorghi Tondi Rosa dei Venti 2019
  • Donnafugata SurSur Grillo 2018
  • Mothia Nero D’Avola Mosaikon 2016

Nicole Ramos, WSET L3, SWS, FWS will present the Webinar.
