Swiss-born winemaker Jean-Claude Martin of Creation Wines will be our guest at this tasting. 'JC', as he likes to be known, set up a new winery perched high up in the highly acclaimed Walker Bay wine region on the Hemel-en-Aarde ridge near Hermanus in the Cape in 2002 with his South-African born wife, Carolyn Finlayson (niece of Peter Finlayson of Bouchard Finlayson). 

The 40 hectares of land, which had sheep grazing on the land when they first visited, had never been planted to vines before - but as they both come from wine pioneering stock spanning at least 3 generations and two continents - they have managed to establish a very impressive estate and realise their dream. Now with 65 hectares, having purchased the farm next door. Like many Walker Bay wineries, Creation focuses on premium Chardonnay & Pinot Noir - but also grows Merlot, Viognier, Syrah and Grenache - only working with estate fruit. 

JC will join us to talk about his vineyard and taste through 4 of his wines:

Creation Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon  

Creation Chardonnay Reserve 

Creation Pinot Noir 

Creation Pinot Noir Reserve  

 

WHAT YOU GET:

You get a mixed case of the above 4 bottles of wine (please note that the approximate retail value is £95) delivered by Creation Wines + the chance to join the above online tasting which will be hosted by Rose Murray Brown MW. The tasting will last 1 hour+.  

It offers a fun relaxed way to learn about wine in the comfort of your own home, discover an up-and-coming Cape winery & meets its winemaker.
