Tuscany could be considered the heart of Italy, in part because of its central location but even more so for its contributions of culture, history, and wine. The region is best known for its dry red wines based off the Sangiovese grape, and include the renowned appellations of Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. But the importance of Tuscany reaches beyond those eminent zones and offers historically renowned whites, mouth-watering dessert wines, and the land of the Super Tuscans. In this class we will taste examples of some of Tuscany’s best known wines in a variety of styles.
We will taste the following wines:
