Join acclaimed winemaker Carol Shelton, for this casual, yet informative talk and tasting: Winemaking 101 - From the Vineyard to the Bottle.

Carol Shelton has been making wine for literally decades and spends as much time with dirt on her shoes in the vineyard, as she spends getting her hands dirty in the cellar. She loves sharing her passion for winemaking with her guests.

Join Carol at her urban winery for this casual talk, walking you through the basics of vineyard management, sustainable farming practices and how she determines when grapes are perfectly ripe for harvesting. From there she will explain the process of bringing grapes into the winery - how white grapes are handled, verse red grapes. What happens once those grapes arrive, how long are they in the cellar and what is the winemakers job to see that juice through until bottling.

This will be a fun way to start your Saturday tasting adventures. Think...sitting down with your best friend for a lively conversation. We will make sure there is plenty of time for Q & A along the way, so you leave understanding the process. You can head out afterward with a complete understanding of how that wine arrived in the bottle.

Of course the talk will include wine to start and end - Carol will offer some of her current favorites!

This intimate presentation/tasting is limited to 30 people.
