The Vinitaly International Academy returns to Hong Kong with its Italian Wine Ambassador Certification course. The format of the course, which has been established for several editions now, is the hybrid Agile Edition. This allows students to take the theoretical lectures conveniently online, and then meet at one of the designated Tasting Centers for the practical tasting sessions. The event is a product of Vinitaly and Veronafiere, and it is part of the “Italy is simply extraordinary: Be IT” campaign of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA – Italian Trade Agency.
Course format
§ Online theory sessions:
When you have signed up and paid for the course you will be given access to our online learning platform. Here you will find the theory sessions presented by the Faculty. These sessions should be followed ahead of the corresponding guided tasting and Q&A.
§ Guided Tasting
Guided tastings will constitute the majority of the second part of the course and give the opportunity to taste the wines with the faculty using the VIA Tasting Grid. Included in the course fee there will be 36 benchmark wines that will be presented in person as part of the guided tastings. The sessions will also be connected via Zoom to VIA Faculty member Sarah Heller MW at the Institute of Masters of Wine in London.
§ Final exam
Exams will take place 29 July 2022. They will consist of 100 multiple choice questions, 2 short answer questions, and blind tasting. In addition, students will be required to produce a short video presentation on a topic that will be released at the start of the course.

§ a recent photo: headshot, clear background, 5 MB max, JPG format
The designated VIA Team evaluates the submitted applications. The outcome of this pre-selection will be communicated to each applicant privately, via e-mail. You can check the status of the application by consulting the profile page or writing to via@justdothework.it.
Upon the approval of the application, the applicants are required to submit the registration form filled in and signed on the application platform. The applicants will then obtain access to the online sessions as soon as the registration form is verified and the registration is completed.
