Come and celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Mezcal Union. Alejandro Champion, Founder of Mezcal union, will sample and provide unique cocktail solutions to celebrate the weekend.
With a group of friends, Alejandro Champion traveled to the mountains of Oaxaca to learn about mezcal. After a day of hiking, they reached a hill and sat under a tree, where they rested. A viejo (old man) shared his mezcal and his stories with them. He told them that the future of mezcal would be based on a unión. They continued their journey with the clear understanding that they must create a unión of mezcal with different producer families. Mezcal UNIÓN provides economic sustainability and social development for all its artisanal mezcal makers; they are founded on quality of production and wellbeing of producers.
Union Mezcal to be Tasted:
Uno Joven
A blend of 8 year old agave Espadín and 14 year old wild agave Cirial. The range of flavors is impressive with diverse fruit, herbal, wood, citrus and earth connotations, slightly smoked, very balanced between the flavor of the agaves and the aromas of the process.
El Viejo
Crafted from a blend of 6 to 8-year-old espadín agave and tobala, meticulously selected to create a mezcal that is as complex as it is captivating. On the nose, you'll be greeted by the enticing aroma of raw agave, intertwined with the comforting scent of cinnamon. This mezcal is cooked using oak and mesquite wood, infusing it with a subtle smoky character that adds depth to its profile. The taste of tejocote, a native Mexican fruit, dances on your palate, complemented by the earthy notes of stone and the rich, creamy essence of butter. This harmonious blend of flavors makes each sip a unique experience, transporting you to the heart of Mexico's mezcal tradition. The aftertaste lingers, leaving a trail of pink pepper and cocoa that adds a hint of spice and sweetness, making for a memorable finish.
