The mystic and diverse wines of the Rhone Valley have long elicited starry-eyed wonderment in many an American winemaker. One particularly lauded group of California vintners was even dubbed the Rhone Rangers given their reverence to the grapes and winemaking styles of this fantastically variegated wine region. In this master class we’ll go north to south, tasting famed appellations such as Crozes-Hermitage, Cotes du Rhone, and Chateauneuf du Pape—the appellation that even got a phat mention in a Beastie Boy’s lyric, yo! A great class for those ever curious about the meaning of the word terroir.
