Premiere Series: Merroir—The Wonderful World Of Oysters

Join us to experience the joys of merrier and terroir, the distinctive properties of sea and vines, oysters and wine.

What do oysters and wines have in common? Complex flavors, the Old World and the New, cultural touchstones, aphrodisia, and a connection between taste and place.

In wine, textures and flavors that come from specific growing regions is called terroir. For bivalve aficionados, merroir is the equivalent concept, one that our experts will explore thoroughly in this class. Our oyster experts will sample several different species of oysters at the peak of their season as they take you on a culinary journey from coast to coast. As always, you will be able to sip on a lovely libation expertly paired with the oysters to enjoy during your edible lesson in merroir.

At this premiere class, a maximum of 14 guests will receive the best that Formaggio Kitchen has to offer. Oysters! Wine! Cheese! You will be seated in our retail location with the full attention of our expert cheeseminger, wine buyer, and chef. This will be a wonderful way to bring transition from April to May as we look ahead to warmer ocean days and summer.


To fully participate in the class:


1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as oysters, a cheese plate, wine, and accompaniments for one.
2. Show up on the day of class! Doors will open at 5:10pm, and class will begin at 5:30pm. This is a seated event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is about an hour and a half. After class, there will be time to tour our cheese caves as well as shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!).
3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please reach out to classes@formaggiocambridge.com before the day of your class if you or a member of your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions.


CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
