Regarded as one of the wine world’s “noble” varieties of wine, Pinot Noir is one of the most widely planted grapes in the world. Thin-skinned and fragile to its growing conditions, this resilient grape has a range of fabulous terroirs where it thrives, from France and Oregon to California and New Zealand, and many countries in between. This Saturday, we will sample the range of its possible expressions, including briny Pinots of the Sonoma Coast, mineral-driven Burgundian beauties, and the mossy stunners of Oregon. Best of all, Pinot Noir is one of the most food-friendly wines of all time—its diversity and quaffability make it the perfect selection for your next host or hostess gift.
