Left Bank Brasserie Menlo Park pays homage to "Poisson d'Avril", April Fools' Day in France, by serving on Monday, April 1, a Chef’s special fish-centric menu item, Pan Seared Skate Grenobloise/$31, with grilled asparagus and roasted fingerling potatoes. In addition, 10% of sales of this item on that day will be donated to the BayEcotarium, whose mission is to protect the San Francisco Bay and its ecosystems.

 

In France, April Fools’ Day is known as "Poisson d'Avril" (April Fish) because people play a trick that involves sticking a paper fish onto the back of as many others as possible, and then running away yelling "Poisson d'Avril!".
