Lake Chalet in Oakland Announces a Honig Wine Dinner

Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill in Oakland will host a Honig Wine Dinner on Thursday, March 21 from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. Tickets are priced at $140.00 and diners will be able to enjoy a five-course meal by Executive Chef Ray Wurtz and Annika Honig paired perfectly with award-winning Honig wines. Annika is a part of Honig's all-female winemaking team and she joins Lake Chalet during Women's History Month, and on the heels of National Women in Wine Day and the 60th anniversary of Honig Winery. The evening will begin with an Ahi Tuna Poke Taco with aji amarillo aioli, radish slaw, soy marinade, truffle oil, and crisp wonton shell paired a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc followed by a Farro Salad of fresh herbs, feta cheese, Rocket, roasted beets, California virgin olive oil, and a honey balsamic reduction with a 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve - Rutherford. Next will be Slow Braised Lamb Shoulder Ragu with pappardelle pasta, herbed ricotta cheese, and rusticana garlic croutons with a 2019 St. Helena Bartolucci Cabernet Sauvignon and then Crispy Cabernet Marinated Pork Belly with apple mustard, and wild rice risotto with porcini mushroom and a 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The dessert of Amaretto Creme Caramel with Amaretti will be paired with a 2019 Rutherford Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc.

Honig has been family owned since 1964 and is now a certified sustainable, solar powered vineyard that is perfectly suited to growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc and the winery focuses production exclusively on these two varietals.
