The Japan Sommelier Association (JSA) was formed in 1969 with the objective of furthering better understanding of wine and other beverages and for their promotion in Japan. The word sommelier is more often associated with wine but in recent years the JSA has focused on Sake and developed the Sake Diploma certification. The Sake Diploma is now one of the most famous and prestigious qualifications in Japan. Sake School of America is the exclusive provider of the JSA Sake Award Diploma Exam offered once a year around International Sake Day, in the North America. Please note this exam includes theory and blind tasting of both Sake and Shochu. $240 exam fee includes the textbook, which is mailed to you after registration is confirmed.

October 19, 2020: 10:00am-12:30pm

Orientation: 10:00am-10:15am

Written Exam: 10:15am-11:15am

Tasting Exam: 11:20am-12:00pm

Short-Essay Exam: 12:10-12:30pm

Important Notice

• You must be over 21 to register for the exam
• Registration will close when course reaches capacity or the registration deadline (Sept. 17, 2020) has passed
• Please bring photo ID and registration confirmation the day of the exam

Prerequisites

• Candidates must successfully have completed either Sake Sommelier certification or WSET Level 3 in Sake in order to register for this exam. If you do not have either of those certifications, please email info@sakeschoolofamerica.com to inquire.

Study Support

• Exam fee includes the textbook, which will be mailed to you after your registration is confirmed.
• Please note we have a separate preparation course offered on August 24-26 via zoom.
