Join us as we welcome the guest speaker, Larry O’Brien, Master Sommelier to Mary’s Vine for a Varietal Comparison Wine Dinner experience with Jackson Family Wines. During the dinner, you will have the opportunity to compare 2 wines with 4 of the 5 courses. Larry is one of 168 certified Master Sommeliers in the USA and 273 worldwide.

Mary’s Vine has years of experience guiding people through the complexity of wine. One of the owners, Jordan, is a certified Level 1 Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators. Jordan has curated Mary’s Vine vast selection of over 500 different labels of wine and now curates the liquor and cigar program at Mary’s Vine’s cigar bar, The Study at Mary’s Vine.

Larry has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant and wine businesses, including positions at two Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning establishments, The Wine Merchant Restaurant in Akron, Ohio and Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa, Florida. Additionally, he served as sommelier for celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s Orlando restaurant. His career led him to Stations Casinos in Las Vegas in 2005 where he created the wine programs for Red Rock Resort and guided the makeover and modernization of the company's corporate wine program.

Reception Course:

Island Chicken Skewer - Celebrate the flavors of the tropics, familiar flavors of tropical fruits on a crispy chicken skewer.

Paired with: Benvolio Prosecco

Appetizer Course:

Gravlax Dutch Blini: - House cured salmon with egg cream on a rye Dutch style Blini. Paired with: La Crema Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma 2021 & Freemark Abbey Sauvignon Blanc, Napa 2021

Soup Course:

Vichyssoise - Cold potato and leek soup.

Paired with: Diatom Chardonnay, Santa Barbara 2021 & Hartford Court Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2018

Pasta Course:

Sicilian Lamb Bolognese con Anelli Siciliani - A rich savory and sweet Bolognese served over a traditional Sicilian pasta shape.

Paired with Cambria Pinot Noir, Julia’s Vineyard, Santa Maria, CA 2020 & Gran Moraine Pinot Noir, Willamette OR 2018

Meat Course:

Brasato di Manzo - A rich slow braised beef roast.

Paired with: Hickinbotham Cabernet Sauvignon, Australia 2018 & Stonestreet Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa 2018

Dessert Course:

Chocolate Cranberry Port Wine Cake - A rich dense Bunt style cake with deep chocolate flavors, finished with a bright port reduction.
