In depth study of Italy's wine producing regions including grape varieties, origin of cultivars, geological exploration, vine cultivation and viticulture, history of the regions winemaking, food specific to each region, and regulations for wine categories.
Sensory evaluation of representative wines assessed in each class. Students achieving a combined score of 75 or greater on Unit I, and Unit II exams will be awarded the internationally prestigious title of Italian Wine Scholar, and may use the post-nominal, IWS. Must be 21 to register.

Wine Fee: $150 (paid to Cepae Tasting room within 2 weeks of course beginning) Pay wine fee HERE.
*Note: Registration includes all stated class times, review sessions, and exam sit. Wine Fee covers all wine sampled in class. Registration also includes access to the Wine Scholar Guild’s Online study modules for the Italian Wine Scholar, Unit II materials. Students can formally withdraw and registration fees can be refunded up to one week in advance of the start date for the course.
