Vocalist and harmonicat Tom “Trashmouth” Baker fronts his own band. It’s
called Greasehouse, and it’s the real-deal. After being the voice of The Blues Notions for
several years and after performing a couple of times at the International Blues Challenge,
down in Memphis, Tom’s 2017 release is called “One Man’s Trash.” Greasehouse blends
elements of blues, New Orleans funk, gospel and jazz. But it’s the blues that makes it talk.
And, Tom’s sandpaper grit voice. A mainstay of the regional blues scene, Trashmouth has
recorded on albums and shared the stage with just about anyone that would have him;
Little Hatch and Myra Taylor included. Greasehouse features Jim Beisman at piano, in that
two fisted style that everyone loves. On bass is the rock-solid Joe Fontenot. His credits
are impressive, he’s done multiple live appearances in the area and he’s no stranger to
the recording studio. Marc Caplan works the drum kit and always keeps it in the pocket.
From Jimmy Witherspoon to Eric Burdon, this is it.
