Cristian was born and raised in Florence, where he was in the restaurant business for many years before moving to San Francisco and marrying his American wife, Christine Carpentier. if you are lucky enough to walk down the streets of his native city, you would think he is the mayor of Florence with his infectious energy and bright smile. He is sure to light up the room with this dynamic flight of artisanal Italian wines that spans the country from classic to exotic styles.
The whites from Friuli and Campania are nothing short of irresistible, with acidity that keeps you salivating for another sip—or bottle.
The Dirupi Valtellina is 100% Nebbiolo from Lombardy, just south of the Swiss border, while the Ghemme is a blend of Nebbiolo and Vespolina in Piemonte. Both wines are from vineyards very high in elevation, it will be a fascinating comparison of the great Nebbiolo grape variety. Finally, we will finish with a robust and rich Brunello di Montalcino.
