THE CONTENDERS
Emily Wines, Master Sommelier, is much, much younger than her fellow contestant for this event, and far better-looking. But seriously, her last name is WINES?? Was this some sort of cosmic joke? Some attempt at preordination? We are not going to reveal too much in advance here, but WINES, Emily, will be presenting three wines from France, artfully paired (yeah, right!) with three Fromages Français.
Her unlucky contestant, Peter Granoff, also a Master Sommelier, does not remember when he passed the exam, but thinks it was maybe 1884? His niece was in kindergarten at the time, and she proudly announced to her entire class the following day that her uncle was now a “Master Somebody-Hey”. That has been Peter’s official title ever since. Peter will attempt to best WINES, Emily, with three wines from Bella Italia paired with tre Formaggi Italien.
You lucky folks will have a chance to decide which country won, which pairings won, whether WINES, Emily is indeed better looking than the Master Somebody-Hey, and whatever else you decide to vote on... Rest assured, Congress won’t be involved.
The featured flight wines will be served as two-ounce pours, each paired with a cheese, and 5-ounce glasses.
