We are stepping up our “game” and yours with a spectacular array of cellar-worthy reds from Europe.

You do not have to have a wine cellar, or even be contemplating one, to enjoy this flight of fine red wines! Our definition of "cellar-worthy" is simply a wine that has the depth, complexity and structure to develop well if held longer term in a temperature-controlled environment. Many of the wines on our shelves qualify. Equally important, "cellar-worthy" does not automatically mean that you can't enjoy the wines now. In fact, many wines that qualify are quite delicious young.

This is going to be a fun one, and it is, after all, all in good fun. Peter Granoff, our resident Master Sommelier and fearless leader, will tell you all you want to know about these wines after you have made your educated, or shot in the dark, guesses.

So, something for everyone. The match game, a flight of great red wines, and a little education regarding what makes a cellar-worthy wine.

The flight will consist of the following:

Garnacha (Grenache) from Madrid, Spain

Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France

Sangiovese from Brunello di Montalcino, Italy

Syrah from Crozes-Hermitage, France

Mourvèdre blend from Bandol, France
