A deep dive into understanding how tannin, alcohol, acid & residual sugar enhance different variants of the wine and what techniques you can use to recognize these features in the future by highlighting areas of the tongue to recognize your body's natural reaction to each of these variants. After the first part of the course, you will put your newfound skills to the test tasting 6 different wines and breaking down each variant.
Part One: The Experiment - includes 5 glasses of wine: a control glass and 4 experimental glasses, 4 different elements to be added to the glasses to enhance the different sensations of tannin, acidity, sweetness, and body of the wine.
Part Two: The Tasting - after experimenting with the different variants of wine we will taste and experience very different wines to put your new tasting skills to the test. Pairings Provided.
Class will be held Tuesday, January 25th at Passion Vines in Somers Point. Palate cleansers will be provided.
