Ch Ksara Lebanese Wine Tasting Featuring Elie, Maamari, Export Director

Sigel’s-Fitzhugh  3209 N Fitzhugh, Dallas 75204 Monday April 29th 4:30-6pm

Established in 1857 by the Jesuits, Ch Ksara is Lebanon’s oldest winery with an extensive cave network discovered in 1898 that runs for over a mile. All of Château Ksara’s vineyards are located in the central and western Bekaa Valley. The slope on either side of the valley and the valley itself create a unique micro-climate in which the cool nights compensate for the hot summer days. At an average altitude of 1,000 meters, the Bekaa enjoys dry summers and has a water table fed by the melting snow of the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountain ranges.

Join us on Monday, April 29th from 4:30-6pm as we welcome Elie, Maamari, Export Director for Ch Ksara. Elie will lead us through tasting of their current wine releases, as well as their iconic Arak. For more information about this free tasting please contact Jim Fleming at store04wine@twinliquors.com or 214/635-3162.

Ksarak Arak

~

Merwah                                            $17.99

Merwah is an ancient white grape, which is given profound expression by Lebanon’s formidable terroir. It had been used in winemaking and arak production for centuries. It offers intense citrus and white flowers with mineral note. Our organic grapes are grown on 60-year-old vines at altitude of 1,600 meters, an altitude that gives the palate freshness and flavors of tropical fruits with undertones of guava, lime and summer melon balanced with fresh acidity. Serve chilled.

Blanc de Blancs                               $17.99

This wine seduces with its finesse, elegance, and floral aroma. On the palate, it is soft, fresh, and long-lasting. The Chardonnay gives this wine its finesse and elegance, the Sauvignon its subtle aroma of hazelnuts and exotic fruits, and the Semillon its roundness, length, and rich taste.

Carignan Old Vine                          $17.99

The Carignan has a deep purple hue. On the nose, it offers intense red and black fruits and with spice and garrigue aromas. The palate is fresh and mineral, full of blackcurrant, strawberries and plums fruit underpinned with spice, juniper and oregano. The finish is long and sustained.

Reserve du Couvent                        $16.99

Combines finesse and elegance with the aroma of wood and vanilla, and supple, pure, and round tannins give it length and persistence on the palate. A blend of Syrah, Cabernet and Cab Franc.

Moscatel Vin Doux Naturel            $10.99

A fortified wine that is luscious and flavorsome with notes of citrus, oranges, caramel, honey and nuts. Moscatel is best served chilled with either pâté’s (in particular Foie gras) and cheese, or desserts and puddings. Serve chilled. A blend of late harvested Gewurztraminer and Muscat a Petit Grains.

Ksarak Arak                                    $21.99

Made with the finest grape spirits, to which aniseed from the Al Heenah area of Mount Hermon (considered the finest aniseed in the world) is added. The spirit is distilled to release the purest arak, which is then aged for two years in clay jars. Serve with water and ice.
