We are traveling for a special adventure - an enchanted evening settled in the valley which holds one our favorite wineries, Cadenza Vineyard in Brogue, PA. At Cadenza, it is all about the wine, and owner Carl Helrich will be there to provide a wine tour exploring how his wines have developed through time.
We’re pleased to engage Carl to create an incredible event where we enjoy wines through the ages as he tells the Cadenza story. Carl considers himself an artist of sorts and will show his artistry through present selections and some fantastic library wines. Carl is never one to disappoint in entertaining or educating on the fine art of wine and wine making.
Carl does not enter competitions, yet his excellence in creating exceptional Bordeaux-style blends and Chardonnays have made him a top PA winemaker. Many of you know from experiencing Carl’s library tastings previously hosted by PWS; and now, exclusively at the winery, that his wines show exceptional ability to age in a delightfully graceful manner.
Hearing Carl speak leaves no doubt of his passion for excellence and breadth of knowledge. He is commonly consulted, makes wines for several other PA wineries, and is known as a leader in the industry. Carl’s passion for wine and excellence, combined with his sense of humor, creates a unique and interesting event you do not want to miss.
From the Cadenza website you will find Carl’s words “A dream that was started in 1973, shaped in the 1980’s and 90’s, reborn in 2001 and crystalized in 2015. The culmination of decades of dedication surrounding the story or a place: growing and evolving”.
In our tasting, we will get to enjoy walking through his dream and story, to experience the art we call wine, as we taste wines through the years. We will taste nine wines including:
Barrel samples of
To focus more fully on the wines in this library tasting, simple cheese and cracker nibbles will accompany the wines. It is strongly suggested that you eat a normal size dinner prior to the event.
