Often people will come into the shop and ask me what wines go with Thanksgiving. Most of the time when dealing with family I'd suggest a bottle of cheap scotch and a few Xanax but since my fake psychiatry license was pulled this year I'm going old-school and gonna suggest some Beaujolais with that fat bird, and I'm talking about aunt Sally either!
With an impressive amount of Beaujolais coming out of France these days, it has become this cool thing to drink again whereas a few years ago us merchants were begging for people to buy some and people would laugh and tell us it's too sweet. Well, not all the people. Our customers have loved Beaujolais since we opened the shop and that's mostly because they understand how well it pairs up with turkey and all the good stuff on the table. Here are five Beaujolais we'll be cracking and each one of them is from a different cru. Of the ten crus in Beaujolais, you'll be tasting five of them. Then next time...the other five.
