Beach Chalet in San Francisco Announces an Orin Swift Wine Dinner
The Beach Chalet Brewery & Restaurant has announced that they will be hosting an Orin Swift Wine Dinner on Thursday, March 14 from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. Tickets are priced at $110.00 and diners will be able to enjoy a five-course meal by Executive Chef Jose Mendoza expertly paired with award-winning wines by Orin Swift’s Stephanie Scharrer who will be in attendance. The evening will begin with Pan Seared Day Boat Scallops, parsnip purée, passion fruit sauce, and caviar paired with a 2022 Blank Stare, a Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc, followed Cappuccino Mushroom Soup with truffle oil, crostini crumb, and crème fraiche and a 2021 Mannequin Chardonnay. Next will be Drunken Red Wine Risotto with wild fungi, braised radicchio, and whipped goat cheese with a 2022 8 Years in the Dessert, a Zinfandel blend, then Red Wine Braised Short Rib with mascarpone cream, polenta, cipollini onion, and baby carrots and a 2021 Papillon, a Bordeaux Blend. Dessert, White Chocolate and Pistachio Cream Profiteroles, will be paired with a 2022 Abstract, a Grenache, Petite Sirrah, Syrah blend.
Orin Swift Cellars was founded in 1998 and offers a delicious blend and variety of wines including enchanting Zinfandels and Cabernets made with grapes sourced from premium vineyards resulting recently in the release of a Wine Spectator’s Top 100 selection.
For decades known for its contemporary and classic seafood-centric American fare, Beach Chalet is housed in an historic building now home to the Golden Gate Park Visitors’ Center at the Western edge of the park fronting the ocean. There is free, accessible onsite parking, almost unheard of in San Francisco.
