On Mother’s Day weekend, the Avondale Estates Downtown Development Authority (DDA) invites wine enthusiasts and art lovers to the Avondale Estates Wine & Art Walk on Saturday, May 11, from 3-7 p.m. in the downtown business district.
Sip, walk, shop and explore the city’s downtown district as 26 retail shops and restaurants transform into wine-tasting destinations.
The afternoon of festivities features wines curated by Purple Corkscrew at pouring stations throughout the city. Additionally, at Wild Heaven Beer, Brannon Boegner, winemaker at Dahlonega’s award-winning Wolf Mountain Vineyards, will be on site with tasting options from their 2024 lineup. Ticket holders will also enjoy tastings from sommelier Steven Grubbs at Commune, the new listening room and wine bar opening in the mixed-used development Olive & Pine.
The Avondale Arts Alliance has lined up art experiences throughout downtown, including an artist market at the Town Green, live music, art demonstrations, workshops, drink and doodle, and plein air painting to add to the ambiance.
