Fortunately for you, some of North America's premier sleeping cars of yesteryears have been fully restored and are ready to make riding the rails exciting again. It's time to immerse yourself in a bygone era of unparalleled luxury like never before, where the journey is just as enjoyable as the final destination.

Join New York Adventure Club as we take part in the 2024 Solar Eclipse Limited train ride between New York City and Niagara Falls, NY from April 7-9, 2024 to witness an awe-inspiring total eclipse pass over New York State for the first time in over 60 years.

Capped at under 20 guests, this intimate multi-day round trip vintage train experience from New York City to Niagara Falls, NY will include:


  • Travel and board on two classic 1950s First Class Pullman railcars — one of which was a part of the former American Orient Express!
  • Fully restored private sleeping quarters with original mahogany and fabrics
  • Private meals cooked by the in-car chefs with plenty of wine and beer to go around

---ABOUT THE VINTAGE TRAIN CARS---

Amtrak Certified Executive Sleeper "BERLIN" Sleeps 14 with Kitchenette. Built by Pullman-Standard in 1956 as "PLACID LAKE" for Union Pacific Railroad's Overland Route and frequently assigned to the Streamliner "The City of Los Angeles" (Chicago to Los Angeles). Now a 4 Master Bedroom, 1 Double Bedroom, 1 Presidential Suite Sleeper with Kitchenette. Click here to see videos of each room.

Amtrak Certified Sleeper/Kitchen/Dining Lounge Observation "BLUE RIDGE CLUB" Sleeps 8 with Dining for 20. Built by Pullman-Standard in 1950 as "BLUE RIDGE CLUB" for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway's Streamliner "The George Washington" (Cincinnati, Ohio to Washington DC). ---ITINERARY---

Day 1 (Sunday, April 7)

  • 9:30am: Assemble with the Pullman Car staff and your fellow rail enthusiasts in Amtrak's Metropolitan Lounge in Moynihan Train Hall
  • 10:20am: Depart from NYC on the tail end of Amtrak Empire Service Train No. 281
  • 12:00pm: Lunch served by the train's chef with a side of stunning landscapes, courtesy of the upper Hudson River Valley
  • 6:00pm: Dinner served on our last leg of the trip with complimentary wine and beer
  • 7:35pm: Arrive at Niagara Falls Amtrak Station


Day 2 (Monday, April 8)

  • 8:00am: Breakfast in the Blue Ridge Club car
  • 10:00am: Free time to explore the town of Niagara Falls
  • 12:00pm: Optional lunch for those who'd like to eat on board
  • 2:04pm: Solar Eclipse begins — don't forget to wear your safe solar viewing glasses!
  • 3:18pm: Total Eclipse begins and will last for 3 minutes and 31 seconds — soak in this once-in-a-lifetime event!
  • 3:30pm: Free time to explore the town of Niagara Falls
  • 6:00pm: Optional dinner for those who'd like to eat on board
  • 9:00pm: Curfew (for those sleeping onboard)


Day 3 (Tuesday, April 9)

  • 5:00am: Board railcars (for those not sleeping on board the night before)
  • 6:00am: Depart Niagara Falls Station
  • 8:00am: Breakfast served between Buffalo and Rochester
  • 12:00pm: A delicious lunch while chugging along the Hudson River Valley
  • 3:45pm: Arrive back at Moynihan Train Hall (New York Penn Station) and bid a fond adieu to your fellow train crew and passengers

---WHAT TO BRING---

  • Luggage: 1 small/medium-sized roll-aboard bag and small carry-on bag (due to limited capacity on the train cars, large pieces of luggage are not permitted)
  • Snacks: While the train will have snacks throughout the experience, you're encouraged to bring any personal bites along.
  • Outfits: A vintage train ride wouldn't be complete without sporting some of your favorite vintageware around the cabin!
  • Games & Activities: Since it takes 9 hours to go between New York and Niagara Falls, we suggest bringing along some items — such as card and board games — to keep you occupied between meals, conversations, and soaking in the views


---IMPORTANT NOTES AND DISCLAIMERS---

  • Sleeping Accommodations: Please note that rooms with an upper berth require climbing a ladder
  • Dining: Dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences will be asked upon check-out
  • Weather: While clear skies are needed to have the full eclipse experience, the "eerie" daytime darkness associated with eclipses is still noticeable with cloud cover.
  • Order Confirmation: Important information surrounding the experience will be found in the automated confirmation email upon registering
  • Age: Must be 21 or older to participate
  • Itinerary: Exact timing of meals and activities is subject to change
  • Clothing: No open-toed shoes are permitted outside of your sleeping quarters
  • Smoking: Smoking of any kind (cigarettes, e-cigs, etc) is strictly prohibited
  • Departure Times: While Pennsylvania Pullmans Inc will notify all guests of any departure time changes made by Amtrak, you may check www.amtrak.com for real-time updates
  • Waiver: All passengers must certify they have read and will comply with the Amtrak Safety rules
  • Passenger Registration Form: After registering, please fill out the passenger registration form located in your confirmation email in order to attend the experience
  • COVID-19: Documentation of current negative COVID status is required within 24 hours of boarding
  • Accessibility: Due to the design of these historic railcars, which were not built with handicap accessibility in mind, ADA access is restricted. For specific questions, please contact admin@pullmans.com.
  • Pets: No pets or service animals are permitted
  • Travel Insurance: Separate travel insurance is encouraged as Amtrak can make unexpected changes resulting in delays
  • Rail Schedule Changes: Pennsylvania Pullmans Inc reserves the right to substitute railcars as required to meet current Amtrak requirements
  • Organizer: This experience is operated by Pennsylvania Pullmans Inc, which has allocated limited spots to New York Adventure Club
