Event Description:

World-renowned Sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier and rising star winemaker Nathan Kendall take us on a journey to New York's Finger Lakes, exploring the unique terroir and the wines of this historically significant wine-producing area that led to a gold medal in Vienna in 1873!

Imagine... locally made wine with a deep appreciation for history, grapes grown organically, and wines created without modern technology. Our presenters have teamed up on a property utilizing the native grapes and ancestral methods to recreate the traditional wines of the Finger Lakes to make an intriguing pétillant naturel made of the native Catawba and Delaware grapes. Pascaline has been called the "Natural Wine Evangelist" by Food & Wine and practices what she preaches with internationally trained Nathan whose passion is to create wines in an old-world style using quality grapes and minimal intervention.

Normally a 5-hour trip by car from New York City, travel virtually to the Finger Lakes with American Friends from the comfort of your couch!

Presenter Bios:

Pascaline Lepeltier, MOF

Growing up in the Loire Valley, Pascaline Lepeltier took a detour from her master's in philosophy to a passion for wine. She is an award-winning Master Sommelier, restaurateur, author, and winegrower who brings her philosophy of natural wines to her work as she was recently called the "Natural Wine Evangelist" by Food & Wine. She was the first woman to receive the prestigious "Personality of the Year" by La Revue du Vin de France, Best French Sommelier 2018 and now a laureate of “Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France - Sommellerie”. Partnering with David LILLIE in the restaurant Racines NYC, one of the top wine destinations in the US, she works with chef Diego MOYA and oversees a 2000+ wine list focusing on mostly organic, biodynamic, and natural. Spending as much time as possible in vineyards and working harvests, she created in 2016 with winemaker Nathan KENDALL, chëpìka, a wine project to rediscover the potential of organically-grown natives grapes and sparkling wines in the Finger Lakes.

Nathan Kendall

Named 40 under 40 Tastemaker 2018 for Wine Enthusiast, Nathan Kendall has become a leading figure in New York's Finger Lakes wine production founding N. Kendall Wines in 2011. An internationally trained winemaker who has experience in Sonoma, Willamette Valley, Waipara(New Zealand), Adelaide Hills (Australia), and Mosel (Germany), he has traveled throughout the world focusing on cool climate regions and varietals in order to create wines in an old-world style using quality grapes and minimal intervention. Born and raised in the Finger Lakes, Nathan brings his international studies back home to focus on the varietals of Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wine to local and national accolades.
