Educational     Spirits     Tasting (sit down)

Following our sold out Tequila Seminar & Tasting last fall, we are delighted to offer a Mezcal Seminar & Tasting! Like Tequila, Mezcal has risen in popularity, and there are many myths and urban legends surrounding it. Also, like Tequila, Mezcal is made from agave; however, there are differences in the type of agave used, the regions where each are made and the production methods.

Join us to go beyond the basics of this noble Mexican spirit and learn not only the process of making Mezcal but also how to taste and fully appreciate this complex and noble spirit and the differences from Tequila. This 2-hour seminar will cover the history, cooking, fermentation and distillation process, brought to life with images and videos taken in México. You will taste six Mezcals and one Tequila made in different styles from famed producers. The tasting samples will highlight the different agave varieties, production methods and how they impact the final profile of each Mezcal via the flavors and aromas.

This seminar will be led by Tequila and Mezcal expert and Mexican national Alex Delgado, DipWSET, with support from Monica Marin, DipWSET.

History of Mezcal evolution into Tequila
