While Germany is best known for its off-dry Rieslings, and Austria for its refreshing Grüner Veltliner, both countries produce a variety of high-quality reds and whites — some of the most delicious the world has to offer, in fact. From Germany's unique sweetness scale to the scandal that almost ended Austria's wine market in the 1980s, it's time to uncover the story of these two wine regions, one glass at a time.

Join New York Adventure Club as we taste and learn our way through eight wines from around Germany and Austria, all inside a 1921 townhouse in Midtown that is now home to the Church of Sweden.

Led by Amy Karasavas, a certified sommelier, our unique experience at this intimate space in Manhattan will include:

  • An overview of German and Austrian wines, from the numerous wine regions to how these unique wines are cultivated
  • primer on how to see, smell, and taste wine
  • tasting of eight wine varietals from around Germany and Austria, including Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, and Müller-Thurgau
  • chance to mingle with other adventurers who enjoy wine as much as you do

Amy has traveled the world studying different styles of wine, and is ready to answer any and all questions about this storied refreshment!
