David Phinney, founder of Orin Swift Cellars, began his winemaking career during a visit to Florence, Italy, in 1995. After falling in love with wine and the winemaking process, and a brief stint at Robert Mondavi Winery, David founded Orin Swift Cellars in 1998. With two tons of zinfandel and not much else, he spent the next decade making wine for others as well as himself, and grew the brand’s reputation to what it is today.
